Air-fried banana fritters | Cooking Series

Today’s post is a recipe inspired by a YouTube video and my family. Instead of the traditional way of deep frying them, I tried air frying them. It turned out quite nice so I thought I’d share it here.


Ingredients

  1. Take one cup (or lower if you are making a smaller portion) of self raising flour
  2. Add sugar 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or to taste
  3. Add a pinch of salt to balance the flavour
  4. Add water to and mix until it’s brought to a batter-like consistency
  5. Cut the ends off the plantain
  6. (Optional) Cut plantain in half
  7. Slice plantain into 2 or 3 slices longitudinally
  8. Coat the pieces in a thin layer of batter
  9. Pan fry at high heat for a few seconds to firm up the batter
  10. Place them individually in an air fryer
  11. Pre-heat the air fryer
  12. Set the air fryer to 220°c for 5 minutes and flip them half way

Your mouth-watering air fried banana fritters are ready to be enjoyed!
