Air-fried banana fritters | Cooking Series
Today’s post is a recipe inspired by a YouTube video and my family. Instead of the traditional way of deep frying them, I tried air frying them. It turned out quite nice so I thought I’d share it here.
Ingredients
- Self raising flour
- Sugar
- Salt
- Water
- Plantain
- (Optional) Turmeric
- (Optional) Cinnamon
Recipe
- Take one cup (or lower if you are making a smaller portion) of self raising flour
- Add sugar 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or to taste
- Add a pinch of salt to balance the flavour
- Add water to and mix until it’s brought to a batter-like consistency
- Cut the ends off the plantain
- (Optional) Cut plantain in half
- Slice plantain into 2 or 3 slices longitudinally
- Coat the pieces in a thin layer of batter
- Pan fry at high heat for a few seconds to firm up the batter
- Place them individually in an air fryer
- Pre-heat the air fryer
- Set the air fryer to 220°c for 5 minutes and flip them half way
Your mouth-watering air fried banana fritters are ready to be enjoyed!
