Photography from a few concerts

I came across a photo blog by Jedda through various other blogs that I subscribe to. This post is inspired by Jedda's blog, and contains a few photographs from a few concerts that I attended recently (including my own!).

Mono (Japan) mesmerising the crowd

I'm grateful for having signed up to the newsletter of a nearby indie gig venue, cause otherwise I most certainly would not have caught this amazing band perform live with my own eyes!

Mono formed in 1999, meaning they have been performing for almost as long as I have been alive. Not only that, they are hailed for their genre defining music. Their description on their website succinctly captures the emotion of listening to their music:

Their original style of fusing rock and classical music has received worldwide acclaim as a new form of deeply moving music—one that evokes the emotions and imagery hidden deep within the listener’s heart: joy and sorrow, light and darkness, life and death. As British Musical Magazine NME once stated, ā€œthis is music for the Godsā€.

Holiday in Tokyo's five year anniversary show

Following on from the performance by Mono, I was keen to watch more bands perform live. While browsing the list of concerts available, I came across Holiday in Tokyo which reminded me of The F16's, a band from my hometown of Chennai, India.

Their front-person described their music as, "... not pop, not rock, but music to dance to". This was evident as the entire audience, were grooving to their rhythms throughout their show!

Tony's living room concert

I guess all this live music really ignited my passion for performance as well, so not long after getting back home, I gave a performance in my living room!
