Snow in Newcastle

Another photo blog, this time featuring photos taken after snowfall in Newcastle. Snow instantly transforms even mundane streets into magical winder wonderlands!

After a relatively mild December, we were blessed with a beautiful snowfall on Saturday morning followed by crisp sunny skies with little to no wind. This made for a perfect opportunity to head out and take some photos.

Porsche in the Snow

A nice 718 stands in front of some row houses with blue skies in the background. The heavy snowfall from the day before has mostly defrosted only leaving behind a thin layer of snow on the road and the rooftops.

Church in the afternoon

Jesmond United Reformed Church is bathed in gentle sunshine. A Merc passes by the church giving the scene a bit of life.

Snow Lined Trees

An evergreen tree (possibly a fir?) stands in the centre of this picture adorned with a thick layer of snow. This picture was taken moments after the heavy snowfall so the tree still retained some of the snow on its leaves.

Snowy Ouse Burn

What's more magical than a tree covered in snow? It's not really a trick question as I've already revealed the answer! A river with trees on either bank dusted with snow all over is definitely the answer.

Sunset at City Stadium

All good things must come to an end, as symbolised by the sunset. The sun may have set but that does not conclude our photo collection as some of my favourites from this series is yet to be revealed!

Lonely Snowman

We stumbled across this masterpiece lookin' lonely but content. My wife added some grass as hair and it added some more character to Frosty the (short) snowman.

Snow covered St Hildas at Dusk

My pièce de résistance of this photo collection for sure! The sun has set but still it's presence is still felt in such a beautiful way.
