A Photogenic Night at The Hoppings
A travelling fun fair came back for its yearly visit. So I packed my Lumix and headed there to take some pretty pictures.
The Hoppings this year coincided with the Summer Solstace, which meant the sunsets were quite late. I managed to get some really pretty sunset shots. Hope you like ‘em!
Dangling legs

This first shot was taken quite early in the evening. The sky was still a pretty blue, mostly clear with just a little bit of clouds. You can see the people frozen in time and having a good time, their legs dangling off their seats.
Artsy set

This shot really captures what's so magical about The Hopping, and why quite a lot of photographers go there to showcase its beauty. We can see an intricately built set comprising of really beautiful visuals, interesting props, like the jolly Roger flags. You can also see a person dressed up in a costume!
Sunsets in EP

Believe it or not, this shot was taken just before 9pm! Late sunsets--as I have said many times before in this blog--is something that I am eternally fascinated by. I can never get over how pretty it is around sunset time, and how much time we get to spend outdoors with natural light.
Pretty lights and city skies

More dangling legs, this time with a really pretty sunset in the background. I really quite like how the lights really stands out in the night.
Desolate landscapes

Decided to put these four together as they all have a similar theme. The first word that comes to mind when I see these pictures is desolate.
Pick me

This picture reminds me of that scene from the Toy Story 1, when Buzz falls in claw machine with those alien toys. There's an almost anticipatory quality to the plushies, as they await their lucky winner to take them home.
Wheels of time

As always, I've saved what I think to be the best for last. the pièce de résistance of this collection. Not only do I love the composition of the picture, I also love the contrast between the whites of the ferris wheel against the blues, the oranges and purples of the sky. It's magical how they all come together in this picture.
